Message from the WebMaster...

Happy Memorial Day!Welcome to the 'New-Look' Dyess website. She's retooled and revamped for yet another tour of duty beginning in May, 2009. We're talking clean and mean with faster access, better graphics, and updated information.

Take a moment to visit the memorial page(s) for Battalion Chief Lawrence Stack who passed away on September 11, 2001.

Gone, but never forgotten.

<<<"This is a photo I took on the '65 -'66 WesPac cruise during gunfire support I believe off Danang.  The timing was tricky because the flash only lasts (as you know) maybe 1/2 a second. I went through a couple of rolls of film and got mostly puffs of smoke or just the guns pointing. My persistence was finally rewarded with this awesome shot of both barrels of the forward mount firing off a salvo. I would love to see it included in the gallery section of the Dyess website. I love the site and have contacted a number of old crewmates thanks to you and Joe..
Best Regards and Good Sailing!!"

John Miess (ET2, 65-66 WesPac Cruise)
